RAILWAY BRIDGES

Watertight joint constructions

  • With reinforced expansion mat for compensating bridge movements between the superstructure and the abutment, or between superstructures
  • Full elastomer profiles, reinforced with steel
  • CR material (vulcanised, not extruded)
  • Designed to last the full service life of the bridge (installed under ballast)
  • Require no maintenance

Concrete bridges
Joint constructions for concrete bridges as per DB guideline 804.9030, master drawing M-UF 1931-1937

Steel bridges
Joint constructions for steel bridges as per DB guideline 804.9010, master drawing S-UF 30-38.

Open, water-permeable joint constructions

These expansion joints are designed to receive and divert oncoming water in a controlled way.

Ballast deck separators
Stog ballast deck separators are designed in line with DB guideline 804.9030 and master drawing M-UF 1913 (for concrete and steel bridges).

Open, water-permeable joint constructions with elastomer retention elements and stainless steel cover grille for concrete bridges
These are designed according to DB guideline 804.9030 and master drawing M-UF 1910-1912.

Open, water-permeable joint constructions for ballastless track superstructure
These structures are designed according to DB viaduct design plan M-TFU 10-13.

Sealing profile for structure end
The Stog T 120 profile with attached elastomer membrane is used to seal off the structure from the abutment and protect the exposed concrete as per DB guidelines 804.9040 and 9030, as well as master drawing M-UF 1903-1905.

Renovations and special solutions
We offer various custom constructions in this area, such as:

  • Dowelled substructures when attaching to existing structures
  • Substructures widened on one or both sides for use in projects involving multiple construction stages
  • Substructures for use with liquid synthetic sealant

We are happy to provide advice and support for even the most difficult problems related to expansion joint construction.

Joint tapes

Longitudinal joint tape
The Stog type 25 S longitudinal joint tape is used to absorb and compensate for vertical movements between superstructures (not designed for track loads). It is designed according to DB guideline 804.9030 and master drawing M-UF 1930.

Edge beam joint tape
The K 40 edge beam joint tape is used for sealing on the cantilever under the edge beams. It is designed as per DB guideline 804.6101.
