COMPANY
Stog was founded by Arnulf Stog in Munich in 1976. We design and produce expansion joint constructions and joint tapes at our branch Waltrop near Dortmund.
The range of applications for the company’s products quickly grew following the development of watertight expansion joints and tapes for use under ballast beds on rail bridges in Germany. With their reinforced expansion mat, joint systems from Stog are also well-suited to pedestrian and cycle paths, station platform bridges and even roadway bridges in some cases. This is thanks to their enclosed and flush-fitting profiles.
Arnulf Stog quickly saw the need for additional products for railway bridges. These included open expansion joints with drainage channels and T 120 profiles with attached elastomer membranes for structure and abutment completion when no expansion joints necessary.
Stog collaborated closely with designers and decision-makers at Deutsche Bahn. Together with the expansion joints’ outstanding properties in installation and operation, this led to more and more Stog products being incorporated into railway bridge projects throughout Germany over the years.
Today, Stog is Germany’s leading manufacturer in railway bridge expansion joint constructions. Stog products require no maintenance and are designed to last the full service life of the bridge when installed under ballast.
Our products are also in high demand around the world, with Stog expansion joints currently in use in both neighbouring countries like Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as further afield in the UK, USA, Israel and South Korea.
